Japan to host major manga and anime events in Kyoto and Yokohama

Major manga, anime, and gaming events are scheduled to take place in Japan during September 2026.

The Kyoto International Manga Anime Fair (Kyomaf) 2026 will celebrate its 15th anniversary on September 19 and 20. Held across venues including Miyako Messe, ROHM Theatre Kyoto, and the Kyoto International Manga Museum, the event features 63 participating companies and organizations. Highlights include a new Creative Stage for industry professionals, 27 stage programs featuring popular titles like ‘Detective Conan’ and ‘Fate/Grand Order’, and various collaboration goods and food offerings.

Additionally, the ‘Yōkai Gakkō no Sensei Hajimemashita! Museum’ will hold its grand finale in Yokohama. Running from September 19 to October 4, 2026, at the Yokohama Sky Building, this mini-museum concludes a tour that previously visited Tokyo, Hyogo, Fukuoka, and Aichi. The event will feature character panels, photo spots, and original merchandise based on illustrations by Mai Tanaka.
