Japan to host summits on Physical AI and robotics implementation
Japan is hosting major industry events focused on the implementation of Physical AI, which integrates AI with robotics to interact with the physical world in sectors like manufacturing, logistics, and construction.
The Physical AI Summit, scheduled for September 16, 2026, at the Palace Hotel Tokyo, will bring together key figures from government, management, and technology. Participants include representatives from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, NVIDIA, and the AI Robot Association (AIRoA). The summit aims to discuss the domestic production, social implementation, and supply chain construction of Physical AI.
A highlight of the summit will be the first public showing of prototypes from a domestic general-purpose robot development competition. This initiative, commissioned by NEDO, involves seven companies developing dual-arm mobile manipulators to strengthen Japan's robotics competitiveness.
Additionally, LexxPluss CEO Masaya Are will participate in the Tokyo Physical AI Summit on September 2, 2026. The discussion will focus on collaboration models between startups and established companies to unlock the potential of Physical AI in industrial settings.
