The Japan Football Association has announced roster updates for the U-19 Japan national team ahead of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 qualifiers.

Vissel Kobe midfielder Kento Hamasaki has been selected as the final addition to the squad. Hamasaki, who rose through the Vissel Kobe youth ranks to the top team in 2026, has previous experience in the J1 League and ACL.

Additionally, Avispa Fukuoka defender Taizo Fujikawa has been called up to replace Iwaki FC defender Haruto Nakano, who is unable to participate due to injury sustained during a J2 League match against Oita Trinita.

The qualifying tournament will take place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, from August 31 to September 7. Japan is placed in Group G and is scheduled to face Kuwait, Cambodia, and Yemen.
