Japan video game sales: Rhythm Heaven Groove leads weekly charts

Japanese physical software and hardware sales data for the week of August 24 to August 30, 2026, shows Rhythm Heaven Groove on Nintendo Switch maintaining the top position with 34,688 units sold.

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 debuted in second place with 27,604 copies sold. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 followed, recording a combined total of 26,905 units across PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and Nintendo Switch platforms.

In hardware sales, the Nintendo Switch 2 led the market with 22,265 units, followed by the original Nintendo Switch family with 8,847 units, PlayStation 5 with 7,351 units, and Xbox Series with 298 units.
