Japan weather: Clear skies for three-day weekend with regional thunderstorms
Japan is expected to experience widespread clear autumn weather during the upcoming three-day weekend, making it favorable for outdoor activities and laundry. High pressure systems will cover much of the country, leading to warm temperatures. In many areas from Kanto to western Japan, daytime highs will exceed 25°C, with some locations approaching 30°C.
However, weather conditions will vary by region. Kyushu, the Nansei Islands, and Hokkaido may see rain, with a risk of heavy thunderstorms specifically between Kyushu and Okinawa. In Okinawa, while some areas remain sunny due to high pressure, parts of the main island and Daito Islands may experience clouds, rain, or thunderstorms due to a pressure trough.
Coastal areas on the Pacific side may face high waves due to the influence of a typhoon. Residents are advised to be cautious of significant temperature fluctuations between day and night and to watch for high waves during marine activities.
