Japan weather: Cold fronts and low pressure bring rain and wind

Unstable weather conditions and cold fronts are affecting various regions across Japan, bringing rain, wind, and temperature drops.

In Hokkaido, a rapidly developing low-pressure system is expected to bring heavy rain and strong winds, particularly in the southwestern areas. Some regions, such as the Ishikari Pass, may experience snow. In Toyama Prefecture, a cold front is causing widespread rain, with temperatures expected to fall significantly by nightfall.

In the Kanto-Koshin region, the Japan Meteorological Agency has warned of highly unstable atmospheric conditions. Residents are advised to be cautious of lightning, sudden heavy rain, hail, and severe gusts, including potential tornadoes, from midday through the early evening.

Yamagata Prefecture is also seeing shifts in weather, with rain expected to move in from the morning through early afternoon following a period of sunshine, accompanied by potential thunder and strong winds.
