Japan weather incidents cause facility closures and power outages
In Kyoto, the environmental learning facility ‘Sustena Kyoto’, located at the Southern Clean Center in Fushimi Ward, has temporarily closed. The closure follows a lightning strike on the previous day that caused malfunctions in the facility’s elevators and broadcasting equipment.
Meanwhile, in Chiba Prefecture, heavy rainfall has caused significant disruptions in Chiba City. Underground electrical equipment in several apartment buildings was flooded, leading to prolonged power outages. Some residents face a recovery period of over a month, and the flooding has also caused water supply disruptions lasting more than a week.
