Japan dominates Men’s Gymnastics at World Championships in Rotterdam

At the 2026 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam, the Japanese men’s team secured gold, successfully defending their title and earning qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Led by Daiki Hashimoto and Shinnosuke Oka, Japan finished with a total score of 251.928, narrowly defeating Russia (250.329) and China (249.193).

In the women’s competition, China ended a seven-year winning streak by the United States to claim the gold medal. Japan’s women’s team achieved a historic milestone by winning the bronze medal, marking their first world championship podium finish in 60 years and also securing a spot for the 2028 Olympics.

Russia competed under a neutral designation, finishing second in the men’s event despite being unable to field several top athletes due to visa denials by the Netherlands.
