Japanese actors announced for new October television dramas

Several new Japanese television dramas have been announced for the upcoming October broadcast season.

Actor Koichi Kitayama will star in the TV Tokyo series ‘Watashi ga Anata to Iru Riyuu 2’, which begins on October 7. Filmed on location in Guam, the drama follows eight individuals seeking true love over ten days. Kitayama noted the challenges of filming amidst sudden squalls and intense natural elements in Guam.

Genta Matsuda of Travis Japan will make his TV Asahi starring debut in the drama ‘Hadakanbou-tachi’, based on the novel by Kaori Ekuni. Scheduled to premiere on October 3, the series explores complex adult relationships and follows a character named Ryo Sabasaki, a shoe craftsman described as a free-spirited and unpredictable man. The production reunites the creative team behind the successful series ‘Tokyo Tower’.
