Japanese and Korean cultural festivals scheduled for September
Various cultural celebrations inspired by Japanese and Korean traditions are scheduled for early September.
In Mexico City, the Natsu Matsuri festival will take place at FARO Indios Verdes on September 5 and 6. The event features free workshops, music, dance, and a cultural bazaar. Activities include manga-related workshops, T-shirt printing, and traditional crafts. The festival is supported by the Mexico City Ministry of Culture and the FARO network.
In Buenos Aires, the Jardín Japonés will host the Hi Matsuri, or Fire Festival, on September 6. The event centers on a symbolic ritual where participants write down misfortunes or wishes on wooden tablets to be burned in ceremonies led by master of ceremonies Minoru Tajima. The ritual aims to transform negative energy into positive intentions for peace and health.
