Japanese architectural institutions announce recruitment and design exhibitions
Architectural institutions in Japan have announced new academic and professional opportunities. Yokohama National University’s Graduate School of Architecture and Urban Design (Y-GSA) is recruiting a design assistant for a two-year term starting October 2026. The role involves supporting studio instruction and architectural design research alongside professors and associate professors.
Separately, Shibaura Institute of Technology is hosting the 5th Architect Exhibition, titled ‘Shibaura 11 Eleven Architect Exhibition,’ at its Toyosu Campus. Running from September 25 to October 25, 2026, the free exhibition features 10 young architects, including alumni and faculty. The showcase focuses on the design process of residential housing, displaying sketches, models, and drawings to illustrate the evolution of architectural concepts.
