Japanese automotive brands launch new smart mirror dash cams

Two Japanese companies have introduced new smart mirror-type dash cameras designed to improve rear visibility and vehicle security.

MAXWIN has released the MDR-G014#X, featuring an 11.26-inch IPS touchscreen. A key highlight is the rear camera’s 60fps recording capability, which provides smoother video playback for monitoring following vehicles. The device includes a separate front camera to allow for flexible mounting and offers 1x to 5x digital zoom for the rear view. It supports Full HD simultaneous recording for both front and rear cameras and is compatible with both 12V and 24V vehicles.

Keiyo Engineering has launched the AN-R138, which incorporates a built-in 360-degree camera capable of recording the vehicle's interior and exterior. This model uses a 10.66-inch smart mirror and includes separate Full HD front and rear cameras. The AN-R138 features HDR night vision for the rear camera and an enhanced parking monitoring system that uses a G-sensor to detect impacts while the engine is off, helping to record incidents like hit-and-runs.
