Japanese franchises celebrate milestones with new merchandise and books

Various Japanese franchises are celebrating 30th anniversaries or special milestones with new merchandise and publications.

Pokémon is launching a 30th-anniversary collection, including a comprehensive official encyclopedia covering 1,025 Pokémon from 1996 to 2026, and a three-volume visual art book scheduled for release in December 2026. Additionally, the Pokémon Card Game is holding lottery sales for special 30th-anniversary expansion packs and premium deck sets via the Pokémon Center Online.

Sanrio's character Pom Pom Purin is marking 30 years with a lineup of goods available through the Japan Post Net Shop, including commemorative stamps, cushions, and mascots.

In the anime sector, a collaboration guidebook between the series Dr. STONE and the publisher Arukikata is set for release on November 19, 2026. The book aims to combine travel and science by exploring real-world locations and scientific concepts inspired by the series.
