Japanese celebrities share personal anecdotes on variety programs
On a recent broadcast of the Fuji TV cooking variety show “Mikitty Dining,” comedian Tomoharu Shoji and his wife, Miki Fujimoto, discussed a sentimental story from Shoji’s high school years. Shoji revealed that a former girlfriend had gifted him a single hand-knitted glove for Valentine’s Day, promising the second glove for White Day. However, the couple broke up before the second glove arrived. Shoji admitted to keeping the single glove in a drawer for a long time in hopes of receiving the pair, a habit Fujimoto described as “too heavy.”
In a separate appearance on Ami Kikuchi’s YouTube channel, model and talent Asuka Kijima shared details regarding her 2024 marriage to a non-celebrity director. Kijima explained that she took the initiative to connect with him after meeting through work. After forming a positive impression of his professional conduct, she searched for his full name on X (formerly Twitter) and followed him, which eventually led to their relationship.
