Japanese celebrities share unconventional hygiene habits on variety show

During a broadcast of the Nippon TV variety program ‘Ueda to Onna ga Hoeru Yoru’, several Japanese celebrities shared unconventional hygiene habits and personal rules regarding cleanliness.

Former Hinatazaka46 member Misaki Sasaki revealed that she brings a sleeping bag to hotels because she is uncomfortable using hotel beds. She explained that she feels as though she can sense insects on the sheets. In instances where she forgot her sleeping bag, she stated she has slept sitting up in a chair to avoid contact with the bed.

Talent Nana Suzuki also discussed her views on cleanliness, noting a distrust of others' beds. However, she faced criticism from hosts and viewers after admitting she does not wash her own bedsheets for up to a month and can go two to three days without bathing. Other guests, such as Mai Asada, shared specific rituals for using hotel facilities, such as using hot water to disinfect shower spaces.
