Japanese civic groups release publications on elections and local governance

Various Japanese political and civic organizations have released new publications focusing on electoral processes and local governance.

The Association for Promoting Fair Elections released issue 93 of its Voters magazine. The publication features discussions on ICT in elections, including the implementation of electronic voting in Shintomi Town, Miyazaki Prefecture. It also addresses the impact of generative AI on election integrity and fact-checking efforts regarding claims of election fraud.

Greens Japan has issued the 59th edition of its newsletter, Midori de Ikou. This issue highlights the Suginami model of local autonomy and civic-led elections, featuring an interview regarding the June ward mayoral election. The newsletter also promotes the party's campaign for the 2027 unified local elections.
