Major Japanese corporations are expanding logistics infrastructure through new developments in Niigata and Yokohama.
Daiwa House Industry has commenced construction on DPL Niigata Higashiko, a multi-tenant logistics facility in Niigata City. Scheduled for completion in November 2027, the facility is located near the Niigata Higashiko port, facilitating maritime transport. The site features a total floor area of approximately 16,939 square meters and aims to achieve high environmental certifications, including BELS 6-star and Nearly ZEB, by utilizing on-site solar power generation.
In Yokohama, Sumitomo Corporation, in collaboration with Prime Life Technologies and Toyota Home, has completed SOSiLA Yokohama Kohoku II. This large-scale facility, covering 112,603 square meters, is designed for proximity to consumer markets and offers efficient access to major metropolitan areas. The site includes a specialized hazardous materials warehouse and features design elements to mitigate traffic impact on surrounding residential areas, such as dedicated truck waiting areas and green spaces for pedestrians.
