Japanese companies explore investment in Paraguay
Japanese companies Nippi Incorporated and Kikkoman are exploring investment opportunities in Paraguay, focusing on the industrial and food sectors. Representatives from both firms met with Paraguay’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC) to discuss utilizing the country as a production and export platform for Mercosur and other international markets.
Nippi Incorporated, a specialist in protein engineering and animal-based collagen and gelatin production, is analyzing activities for various industrial and commercial applications, including cosmetics. Kikkoman, a global leader in soy sauce and condiments, is evaluating the potential for establishing operations to serve regional and global markets.
Paraguayan Ambassador to Japan, Mario Toyotoshi, noted increasing interest from Japanese businesses following recent promotional events in Tokyo and Osaka. He emphasized that the arrival of these companies could bolster Paraguay’s industrial transformation through the introduction of new technology and specialized knowledge.
