Japanese companies launch digital and AI training for new employees

Japanese companies are increasingly focusing on digital transformation (DX) and AI literacy through specialized training programs for new employees.

Mitsui-Soko Holdings has launched a DX practical training program for all new employees starting in fiscal year 2026. Led by its AI Promotion Office, the initiative aims to develop hybrid talent capable of combining logistics expertise with digital skills. The curriculum covers generative AI and AI agents for automating documentation, Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for streamlining routine tasks, and Business Intelligence (BI) tools for data visualization and decision-making.

In a similar trend, Bizup Research Institute has opened applications for its 2027 new employee training programs. Recognizing that the incoming generation is characterized by high AI and social media literacy but may struggle with proactive problem-solving and intergenerational communication, the institute has added new AI and digital literacy modules. These sessions focus on the safe and appropriate use of technology, including information security and managing risks like hallucinations in generative AI.
