Japanese companies tackle resistance to digital transformation
Companies such as J-POWER, Toko Denki Koji, and Fuji Pharma are addressing the “veteran wall” encountered during digital transformation (DX) initiatives. A common obstacle is resistance from experienced employees and managers who feel their current methods are effective and view new tools as an unnecessary burden.
To overcome this, these organizations have focused on making the benefits personal to the staff. Fuji Pharma addressed specific daily frustrations, such as inefficient inquiry routing, to demonstrate tool value. Toko Denki Koji utilized site visits and information sessions to turn employees into “promoters,” while J-POWER noted a shift where users began advocating for the value of data visualization themselves.
