Japanese companies use immersive games for new hire induction ceremonies
Japanese companies Narikoma Group and Copros are utilizing immersive and gamified experiences during their induction ceremonies for 2027 prospective employees to deepen engagement and reshape industry perceptions.
Narikoma Group held an immersive induction ceremony featuring an original game called ‘Narikoma Crossroads.’ The program allows new hires to experience historical company challenges and decision-making processes through a role-playing format, helping them visualize their future roles and connect with company values.
Copros, a construction firm based in Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi Prefecture, conducted a ceremony for three selected candidates out of 453 applicants. The event featured a proprietary ‘Construction Management Experience Game.’ The company aims to use this role-playing method to demonstrate that construction management requires skills relevant to humanities students, such as negotiation, consensus building, and risk management, countering the stereotype that the industry is exclusively for science-oriented individuals.
