Japanese dessert makers unveil summer‑limited sweets

Rakkansha has introduced a summer‑only confection called "Kudzu Verine" that uses the Japanese starch kudzu to create a jelly‑panna cotta hybrid. The product is offered in three flavours – grape, strawberry and mango – each paired with vanilla panna cotta and a topping of crushed lemon jelly. Each serving is priced at ¥486 (tax included).

The bakery chain .donut launched a new peach‑cream donut on 5 August, available until 4 October. The donut features generous pieces of peach flesh, a sweet cream filling and a garnish of the herb verveine, which adds a lemon‑like freshness. It sells for ¥550 (tax included) at all .donut locations.

Both items are marketed as seasonal treats designed for the Japanese summer market.
