Japanese female jockey Miku Kobayashi achieves career milestone
Miku Kobayashi, a 21-year-old female jockey in the Japan Racing Association (JRA), has reached a career high of 41 wins this year. Her rapid ascent includes becoming only the third female jockey in history to secure a leading position in Fukushima this spring, winning her first graded stakes title at the Hakodate Kinen in June, and achieving 100 career JRA wins in August.
Kobayashi utilizes a distinctive racing style, leveraging the 2-kilogram weight allowance provided to female jockeys to execute aggressive front-running tactics. Her performance has earned recognition from peers, including jockey Takeshi Yokoyama. Looking forward, Kobayashi has set a goal to achieve 100 wins in a single year.
