Japanese film “Mentor” releases official trailer starring Isomura Hayato, Suemura Seiya and Ayano Gō

The upcoming Japanese drama "Mentor" (2026) has unveiled its official trailer and four new stills. The film stars Isomura Hayato and Suemura Seiya (A! group) in dual lead roles, with veteran actor Ayano Gō portraying Enomoto, a man scarred by a fire that claimed his family fifteen years earlier. Directed and scripted by Yoshida Keisuke, the story follows two young men whose lives were reshaped by that tragic incident and their uneasy reunion with Enomoto.

In the trailer, Enomoto’s unexpected return triggers a clash of guilt and forgiveness as Suemura’s character, Takumi, seeks mentorship while Isomura’s Ryunosuke pursues an Olympic archery career. Cast interviews reveal Isomura’s preparation through physical training and archery practice, Suemura’s pressure as his first starring role, and Ayano’s three‑hour special makeup routine to achieve the character’s striking presence. "Mentor" is slated for a nationwide Japanese release on 16 October, distributed by Avex Film Labels and Star Suns.
