Japanese firms launch services for SCS supply chain security compliance

Japanese technology firms are launching new services to help businesses comply with the upcoming Supply Chain Security (SCS) Evaluation System, a framework promoted by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Cabinet Secretariat's National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity.

BTN Consulting has released a free, registration-free self-check tool designed to help companies assess their alignment with the ★3 level requirements of the SCS system. The tool covers 26 requirements and 81 evaluation criteria, allowing users to identify gaps and generate PDF reports for internal planning without submitting data to external servers.

Canon IT Solutions is expanding its security diagnostic services to provide end-to-end support for the SCS system. Following its initial diagnostic service launched in April, the company will introduce execution plan formulation in August 2026 and implementation support in October 2026. These services aim to assist companies in navigating the transition from identifying security vulnerabilities to executing technical and operational improvements required for ★3 (Basic) and ★4 (Standard) certifications.
