Japanese firms Teitsu and Kayac post record first‑quarter sales and profit
Teitsu Co., a Japanese retailer, announced that its FY2027 Q1 consolidated revenue reached 11.7 billion yen and operating profit hit 790 million yen, both the highest ever for a first quarter. The company said aggressive sales initiatives and strong demand for new games, trading cards and hobby items drove growth, offsetting higher operating costs.
Kayac Inc. reported that its FY2026 Q1 consolidated revenue rose 11.4% year‑on‑year to 5.2 billion yen, with operating profit up 36.5% to 340 million yen, also a record first‑quarter sales figure. Growth was led by its hyper‑casual gaming business and continued performance of legacy titles, while new releases and DX‑related contracts supported earnings.
Both companies highlighted continued expansion plans and strategic investments to sustain momentum into later quarters.
