Japanese food‑tech firm Newtribase raises ¥50 million to expand flavorless nutrition powder Ayo
Newtribase, a Japanese food‑tech startup, announced a ¥50 million (approximately $300,000) financing round with Incubate Fund as lead investor. The funding will accelerate the rollout of its flavor‑less nutrition powder “Ayo”, which provides 15 essential nutrients in about 1 gram per serving.
Ayo is aimed at families with children and is already stocked in all Akachan Honpo locations and roughly 300 Aeon stores, with sales exceeding one million servings. Newtribase plans to integrate the product into school meals, expand to overseas markets and support clinical research, promoting a new “nutrition infrastructure” concept called “adjusted nutrition” (調栄料). CEO Hideaki Sato and Incubate Fund partner Tetsu Akura highlighted the product’s potential to address nutritional gaps as the global population approaches 8.5 billion.
