Japanese football legends host youth coaching clinic in Jakarta

Japanese women's football legends Mana Iwabuchi and Aya Miyama hosted a coaching clinic in Jakarta on September 17, 2026. The event, titled ‘MilkLife Soccer Challenge with Pokemon’, was organized by the Djarum Foundation in collaboration with MilkLife and The Pokemon Company.

Approximately 74 young female players, aged 10 to 13 from Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi, participated in the 90-minute session at the KingKong Arena in Cijantung. The clinic focused on fundamental technical skills, including ball touch, juggling, deceptive movements, step work, precise ball control, and shooting accuracy.

Following the technical drills, participants engaged in simulated matches across four fields. Iwabuchi, a former Arsenal Women player, emphasized the importance of honing basic techniques at an early age to prepare for competitive levels. Both mentors joined the rotations during the matches to provide direct experience and guidance to the youth players.
