Japanese footgolf squad reaches final day in Youth World Cup with top‑8 finish

Japan’s youth footgolf team competed in the second round of the FIFG Footgolf Youth World Cup 2026 at Golfclub Erzgebirge‑Golfpark Gahlenz in Saxony, Germany. In the 13‑15‑year‑old boys' category, Shunno Furut (古田旬之介) posted a 2‑over‑74 round, moving to a cumulative 2‑over and securing eighth place, the best Japanese result so far. His teammates Kyohei Otsuka, Kenji Sesoko and Rintaro Nakajima recorded scores of 9‑over, 4‑over and 6‑over, placing 20th, 21st and 25th respectively.

In the 16‑18‑year‑old boys' division, Kazuma Hirose (廣瀬一磨) shot 4‑under‑68, improving to a cumulative 3‑under and climbing to 15th place. The Japanese contingent of five players will aim to improve their standings in the final round on July 19.

The tournament, running from July 16‑18, features junior competitors from dozens of nations and marks the first youth Footgolf World Cup under the International Footgolf Federation’s auspices.
