Japanese Game Expo Showcases Retro Indie Title 'Mookis' and Idolmaster Million Live! Development Insights

At the Game Pavilion jp 2026 summer event held on July 25 at Kyocera Dome Osaka Sky Hall, indie developer Fukuda Corp presented the romance adventure game “Mookis”. The title is set in 1999 Tokyo and uses a CRT‑style 4:3 display, real‑life photographs of Kokubunji, period‑accurate fonts and weather data. The team plans to release the game on Steam around January 2027.

During CEDEC 2026 (July 22‑24) in Pacifico Yokohama North, Bandai Namco Studios’ Takahiro Kakizawa delivered a session on the concept development of “Idolmaster Million Live! Theater Days”. He outlined a customer‑centric design process, detailed target‑audience analysis focusing on 2‑D idol fans aged 20‑40, and strategies to attract players who find other rhythm games too demanding.
