Japanese high school students engage in regional planning and medical training
Students from Fuji City High School participated in a learning forum at Toin Yokohama University on August 19. Three teams of students presented their progress on regional planning projects. Second-year students shared updates on their fieldwork and city hall planning, receiving guidance from university faculty and teachers. Third-year students presented progress on an event they are organizing following the approval of a budget from the city hall.
Separately, six high school students from Johoku Saitama Junior and Senior High School participated in a one-day medical experience program at Nihon University Itabashi Hospital on August 7. The program included simulated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) to practice diagnostic reasoning, surgical experience using electrical scalpels and suturing techniques, tours of the emergency and intensive care units, and blood type testing practicals. The initiative aimed to deepen students' understanding of medical professions and clinical teamwork.
