Japanese high schools capture multiple regional titles across baseball, badminton and basketball

Yokohama High School clubs recorded a series of victories in the April‑May season. The baseball team won the 78th Spring Kanto High School Baseball Tournament, its first title in 22 years and the seventh overall. Badminton squads triumphed in several Kanto events, earning places at the national championships, while the volleyball, track and field, judo, archery and other teams secured top‑three finishes in regional contests, qualifying for national tournaments.

In Fukuoka Prefecture, the high school sports tournament saw Fukuoka Daïhōri defeat Fukuoka Daiichi 83‑50 to claim a third consecutive prefectural basketball championship and a berth in the national high school tournament. East Sea University Fukuoka’s women’s basketball team also won its final, and repeat champions emerged in soccer, kendo and judo, with individual titleholders highlighted in the event.
