Japanese horses fail to secure victory at Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe
Japanese entries failed to secure a victory at the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe at Longchamp Racecourse. Meisho Tabal finished in 14th place, while Admire Terra finished 11th.
Trainer Yuichi Fukunaga and jockey Yuga Kawada analyzed the performances during a broadcast. Fukunaga noted that Meisho Tabal appeared to struggle with tension, suggesting the horse showed signs of being overly forceful during the race. He also observed that the horse struggled to maintain balance when moving away from the rail in the straight.
Regarding Admire Terra, Fukunaga noted the horse successfully fought for position early on, despite the eventual 11th-place finish. Kawada commented on the difficulty Japanese horses face with the gate procedures in France, noting that the long wait in the gates can make it difficult for them to react quickly upon release.
