Japanese idol trainee dies from influenza-related myocarditis

An 8-year-old idol trainee from the Nagoya-based DIANNA Project, Luna Hirata, has passed away due to myocarditis following an influenza infection. According to reports, the trainee had performed on stage only five days prior to her death on the 25th. Her agency stated that the funeral was held privately with close relatives, requesting privacy for the bereaved family.

Medical experts note that while influenza is often recoverable, it can lead to severe complications such as myocarditis, encephalitis, and pneumonia. Health professionals emphasize the importance of administering antiviral treatments within 48 hours of symptom onset to mitigate these risks.
