Japanese institutions launch industry-academia programs for business innovation
Various Japanese institutions and corporations are launching initiatives to foster industry-academia collaboration and support business expansion into Southeast Asia.
SG Holdings Co., Ltd. collaborated with Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University for a practical course titled ‘Global Management (Capstone)’. During the program, company representatives lectured on the current state of the logistics industry and presented challenges to fourth-year students, assisting them in developing concrete business ideas focused on the logistics landscape of 2035.
Separately, the Nagoya Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched an ‘Industry-Academia-Government Collaboration Innovation Program’ in partnership with Nagoya University’s Singapore campus and the National University of Singapore (NUS). The program aims to support member companies in Southeast Asian market entry and new business creation. Mixed teams of students from Nagoya University and NUS will work with professional mentors to develop and present business ideas in English to participating companies.
