Japanese IP companies announce expansion and milestone achievements

Several Japanese companies involved in digital content and intellectual property (IP) have announced significant milestones and strategic developments.

Plott Inc., a creator of short animation IP, has been selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for the “IP360” overseas expansion support program. The company aims to establish a scalable model for globalizing Japanese short animation, following a period where its overseas viewership grew twentyfold to reach 900 million cumulative views.

In the digital collectibles sector, the online trading card gacha service “Oripa Shop,” operated by WinC (a subsidiary of MUSCAT GROUP), surpassed 2,000 registered members within its first month of operation. To celebrate, the service is launching various promotional campaigns through September 2026.

Additionally, the official online store for the “Captain Tsubasa” series will release a highly limited edition air acrylic art series featuring hand-signed and serialized panels by creator Yoichi Takahashi. Only 50 units of the second volume are scheduled for sale.

In regional promotion, the character “Umeda no Ume-chan” from the YouTube animation “HELLO OSAKA,” produced by Hankyu Hanshin Holdings, will serve as a one-day police chief at the Toyonaka Minami Police Station to promote traffic safety during an upcoming autumn fair.
