Japanese lawmakers visit ISRO and IISc in Bengaluru
A Japanese parliamentary delegation from the Liberal Democratic Party visited several key institutions in Bengaluru as part of the India-Japan Visit Program. The delegation, led by former Foreign and Defence Minister Taro Kono, included representatives Karen Makishima, Kenji Nakanishi, and Sako Yamamoto.
The visit included stops at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). Coordinated by India’s Ministry of External Affairs under the Distinguished Visitors Programme, the mission aimed to familiarize lawmakers with India’s latest developments and facilitate direct interaction with stakeholders.
The Indian Embassy in Japan noted that the exchange highlights the depth of the special strategic global partnership between the two nations, specifically regarding cooperation in artificial intelligence, technology, space, defense, and startups.
