Japanese luxury hotels expand wellness and beauty-themed offerings

Luxury hospitality in Japan is increasingly focusing on wellness and beauty-themed accommodations. In Tokyo, the 1 Hotel Tokyo, which opened in Akasaka in March 2026, features the Bamford Wellness Spa on its 38th floor. The spa offers specialized treatments, such as the ‘Summer Glow Ritual’ available through September 30.

In Tochigi Prefecture, the Nikko Kinugawa Hotel Mikazuki has introduced ‘Sanbi Rooms,’ a limited offering of two rooms per day starting in September 2026. These rooms are designed around the concept of beauty, hot springs, and rewards, providing guests with high-end beauty appliances from brands like ReFa and MYTREX, as well as YA-MAN skincare tools. The stay is offered in an all-inclusive style, combining traditional hot spring relaxation with modern self-care technology.
