Japanese luxury hotels receive Michelin Guide recognition
Several Japanese luxury hotels have received recognition in the latest Michelin Guide Hotel Selection. Hotel The Mitsui Kyoto has earned the highest rating of ‘3 Michelin Keys’ for the third consecutive year. It is the only hotel in the West Japan area to receive this top distinction, which is part of a new metric established in 2024 to identify exceptional accommodations globally.
In Hokkaido, Yuki Niseko has also been honored, receiving ‘1 Michelin Key’ for the third year in a row. Developed by SC Global Developments, the hotel was selected among 145 hotels worldwide. The recognition highlights the property's design, architecture, and service. Japan currently holds the highest number of Michelin Key hotels in Asia for 2026.
