Japanese Mahjong Pro Sayaka Okada Debuts as Singer at Tokyo Event

Sayaka Okada, a female professional Mahjong player and model, announced her debut as a singer with the single “国士無双 LOVE,” released on May 22. She held an install event at Tower Records Shibuya on May 26, where she performed the song and expressed that she was extremely nervous, saying, “I was unbelievably nervous, but the audience’s energy helped me relax.”

Okada reflected on her 15‑year entertainment career, noting that she never expected to release a CD and describing the debut as a long‑held dream. She also commented that participation in the NHK Kōhaku Uta​gassen would be unlikely. On Instagram she shared photos of her stage outfit—a mint‑green double‑button jacket, floral mini‑skirt, embroidered stockings and strap shoes—receiving many compliments from fans.
