Japanese markets hit record highs amid Web3 volatility

The Japanese stock market showed strength recently, with the TOPIX reaching consecutive record highs and the Nikkei 225 rising for four straight days. Despite a holiday mid-week, market momentum remained robust, though some investors engaged in profit-taking toward the end of the week.

In the technology and engineering sectors, Advantest reached record highs, while Toyo Engineering saw significant gains, rising to 2,640 yen. Meanwhile, the Web3 and cryptocurrency sectors faced scrutiny. Metaplanet, a company known for its large Bitcoin holdings, released its interim financial results. Additionally, concerns arose regarding AI-driven cryptocurrency management services, specifically BitradeX, following reports of users being unable to withdraw funds.

Regulatory shifts are also occurring as cryptocurrency oversight moves toward the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, alongside developments in AI-driven on-chain finance.
