Japanese midfielder Reo Hatate linked with West Ham United transfer

Celtic midfielder Reo Hatate, who joined the Scottish club from Kawasaki Frontale in 2022, is reported to be seeking a move away this summer. Celtic officials acknowledge a rift has emerged, with manager Ange Postecoglou saying the club does not wish to retain a player who wants to leave.

English Championship side West Ham United have expressed interest in signing Hatate, according to British media. The Japanese international also attracted attention from J‑League club Kashima Antlers, which is said to be negotiating with his representatives. Hatate’s contract with Celtic runs until June 2028.

Both parties are assessing possible offers, and the player's next destination remains uncertain.
