Japanese midfielder Yamamoto Tensho scores on Borussia Dortmund debut
Eighteen‑year‑old Japanese midfielder Yamamoto Tensho, on loan from Gamba Osaka to Borussia Dortmund until June 2027, made his debut in a preseason friendly against Rot‑Weiss Oberhausen on 18 July. He entered the match in the second half and scored the decisive goal as Dortmund secured a 2–1 win.
Dortmund coach Nico Kovac praised Tensho as “very promising and a source of joy” for the club, noting his technical ability and work rate. Although registered with Dortmund’s U‑23 side, the coach indicated a clear pathway to the first team and said he will be closely monitored.
