Japanese municipalities adopt digital tools for childcare support
Japanese municipalities are implementing digital tools to enhance childcare and maternal health support.
Toshima City has introduced a pilot program for ‘Jimoyku’, a web-based reservation service. The service allows residents to view and book events at eight different community hubs (Kumin Hiroba) directly through a website without needing to download an app. Registration for the service began in late September.
In Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, the municipality has launched ‘Kame-marutto’, a digital maternal and child health handbook service powered by Boshimo Co., Ltd.’s ‘Boshimo’ application. The service allows parents to digitally record health data, manage vaccination schedules, and receive local information. This initiative aligns with the Children and Families Agency’s policy to promote digital transformation in maternal and child health, providing a secure cloud-based backup for essential health records.
