Japanese municipalities announce September supplementary budgets

Various Japanese municipalities and prefectures have announced supplementary budget proposals for September, focusing on infrastructure, disaster recovery, and local development.

Yamanashi City has outlined a budget that includes approximately 28.5 million yen for the detailed design of the Fuegawa Gakuen school building, with construction planned for 2027. The proposal also allocates funds for a harmful wildlife processing facility, various elementary and junior high school repairs, and water system improvements.

Yamagata Prefecture has proposed a supplementary budget of 22.665 billion yen, the seventh largest in its history. A significant portion, 3.376 billion yen, is dedicated to repairing damage caused by heavy rains in July, including road and riverbank repairs. The budget also includes funds for upgrading the prefecture's antenna shop in Tokyo.

Hokuto City's proposal includes 20.7 million yen for expanding the Kobuchisawa No. 3 parking lot to improve tourism and station accessibility. Additionally, the city is investing in a multi-task disaster prevention vehicle and a smart agriculture promotion project to enhance farming efficiency through high-precision positioning technology.
