Japanese municipalities propose budgets for infrastructure and urban development

Minami Alps City has announced a supplementary budget proposal for September, focusing heavily on infrastructure and regional development. A significant portion, approximately 434.7 million yen, is allocated to development projects around the Minami Alps Interchange (IC). This includes land preparation, surveying, and design management for a 3.3-hectare central area, with development being led by IDOM Co., Ltd. Other allocations include road improvements, sewage construction, and repairs for local schools and childcare facilities.

In Akita City, the August municipal assembly has convened with a supplementary budget proposal totaling over 761 million yen. Key items include funding for the basic planning of a new stadium and the development of the Sotogahikawa district. Mayor Jun Numaya indicated that the Sotogahikawa project will proceed based on plans from business partner Aeon Town to encourage private investment. Additionally, the city is preparing to seek private funding for the new stadium through corporate-version hometown tax donation programs.
