Japanese museums host Marie Antoinette exhibitions and themed events

Museums in Japan are hosting special exhibitions and events centered on Marie Antoinette.

The Yokohama Museum of Art is presenting the ‘Marie Antoinette Style’ exhibition. The event features collaboration items available at the museum shop, including products imported directly from Paris. Additionally, themed collaboration menus are being offered at the museum’s cafe and nearby Le Salon de Nina’s.

In Tokushima Prefecture, the Otsuka Museum of Art has added a permanent display of a life-sized ceramic reproduction of Vigée Le Brun’s ‘Marie Antoinette with Roses’. To commemorate the new exhibit, the museum’s restaurant is serving a limited-time ‘Petit Trianon Lunch’ featuring Tokushima-grown Awa Sudachi chicken. The museum is also hosting its 10th ‘Art Cosplay Festival’, allowing visitors to dress as historical figures, including the French queen.
