Japanese music scene highlights new releases and emerging artists

The Japanese music industry continues to see activity from emerging independent artists. The Osaka-based four-piece rock band Chisetsunagara has released a new single titled ‘Baby Step’. The track explores themes of intense, self-centered romantic emotions through unpredictable melodies and energetic band sounds. The group is currently conducting its first solo nationwide tour, ‘Gendai Chiseki Gairon’, across eight cities.

Additionally, TuneCore Japan, in collaboration with Real Sound, has released its 15th installment of the ‘MEDIA NETWORK’ project. This initiative promotes next-generation independent artists. Featured artists include rapper CoCo. Jee with ‘MARICA’, the music project the BL00M with ‘cocoa (feat. Pon & cocomi)’, the Shibuya-based band mukeikaku with ‘repeat’, rapper ZtN with ‘Douchu’, and SAEKI HOSHIYA with ‘Inaka Sodachi’.
