Japanese MVNOs report stable operation following iOS 27 release

Following the release of iOS 27, major Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNOs) in Japan have reported that their services are functioning without significant issues. Providers such as IIJmio and mineo have confirmed compatibility, noting that the update behaves similarly to iOS 26 for supported devices, including iPhone 11 and iPhone SE (2nd generation) or later.

With the introduction of the iPhone 16 series in Japan, which utilizes eSIM exclusively, users transitioning to these newer models must ensure their MVNO supports eSIM. While major carriers offer streamlined transfers, MVNO customers may need to follow specific procedures on their provider's website to complete the transition from physical SIM to eSIM.
