Japanese Night in Busan promotes international film collaboration
The JAPANESE NIGHT Executive Committee hosted the inaugural ‘JAPANESE NIGHT in Busan 2026’ at the Paradise Hotel in Busan, South Korea, on October 9. Held alongside the Busan International Film Festival, the event brought together at least 300 guests, including actors, directors, film industry professionals, and media representatives, to explore international cooperation opportunities.
Led by actress and producer MEGUMI, the initiative aims to build cross-border networks for new projects. Key highlights included the introduction of the ATMOVIE GLOBAL TRACK project by producer Takeshi Moriya, designed to train producers for international co-productions. Various creators presented upcoming works, such as Miki Tanaka’s feature debut ‘silver express’ and Hirokawa Hayashida’s comedy ‘GURUGURU’.
The event also featured discussions on cross-cultural collaboration, including South Korean actor Jung Il-woo’s experience working on the Prime Video original series ‘Hanzaisha (The Criminal)’, and the appearance of actors Eita Nagayama and Son Sukku from the Netflix series ‘Puleungil (The Blue Road)’.
